Jeannie Matteucci is a San Francisco Bay Area-based freelance writer who covers home design, the entertainment industry and beauty/fashion. In 1990 she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of San Francisco with a major in Print Journalism and a sub emphasis in Mass Media Studies. After graduation, she moved to Los Angeles for four years where she worked as a production assistant for a local theatrical producer and later as an editorial assistant for Los Angeles Magazine. At Los Angeles Magazine, she helped organize celebrity cover shoots and served as the coordinator of the magazine's 25th Anniversary Dining Guide. During her time in Southern California, she also briefly served as an assistant to the publicist of Jerry Seinfeld and Tim Allen.

After exploring writing opportunities in New York City and Chicago, Jeannie returned to San Francisco in 1995 and started writing for the San Francisco Chronicle Home&Garden section. For over five years she wrote a regular column called the Project Planner, covering Bay Area home improvement projects. She went on to write numerous cover stories and features for the Home&Garden section, while also writing the Before&After column for Woman's Day Kitchens & Baths magazine for over a decade.

Jeannie has interviewed Hollywood celebrities, star stylists, top interior designers and respected architects. Her work has appeared in a wide variety of publications, including Consumer Reports, C Magazine, Entertainment Weekly, House Beautiful, InStyle and TV Guide.

Jeannie is currently a Contributing Writer for the San Francisco Chronicle Style section, HGTV Remodels and Houzz.com.
